Thadam is an intense action that keeps us engaged for most of the time.
Magizh, the director true to his name needs to be lauded he leaves the audience happy at the end of the movie. The detailed research he has performed for the movie too has clearly paid off.
The movie starts off like a breeze, building on the pace, momentum, suspense with each minute’s passing and ends up with a riveting and pulsating climax.
Arunvijay is a big asset to the movie in terms of maintaining the thrill and suspense. As Ezhil and Kavin though there’s no much distinction in terms of physical features, he needs to be lauded for creating that difference in terms of body language and non verbal features that is even more challenging and difficult. This movie is yet another testimony to the kind of potential this amazing actor has. Leaves us in awe.
The narration of the movie is extremely interesting and keeps us glued to the edge of the seats. The two parallel tracks and final convergence makes the movie kind of a “down the wire, unique experience”
Vidya Pradeep has played a very strong character and she plays a critical part of the puzzle. Her impact leaves us feeling pity for her at the end of the movie.
Excellent supporting performances from YogiBabu, Smruthi, Fefsi Vijayan and Tanya.
Music by Arun Raj and Cinematography by Gopinath augments the impact and thrill quotient of the movie.
Moving to the other side of the coin the movie gets bogged down by a few minor goof ups. The placement of songs and a few sequences that are clearly out of sync especially in the first half. They act as clear speed breakers to the movie. Some more brisk editing would have made this more effective and engaging.
This is one edge of the seat thriller that’s not to be missed. Brand Arun Vijay is flying high and Shiny throughout the movie. I am going with 3.5/5 for this movie. #rangasreview #thadam #Arunvijay #MagizhThirumeni
