Once in a while few movies come and remind us of the very essence about movies and gives purpose to the entire movie industry. Secret superstar is one such emotional, authentic movie that leaves the audience moved and creates such an impact in you. In a sense the perfectionist Mr Aamir Khan is like Harry Potter the Seeker always on the lookout for the Snitch, tiny yet very powerful and valuable. On a similar note Aamir spots such movies plays a primordial role in bringing them out and leaves the audience very Happy.
The plot of the movie is easily portrayed through the title and it’s all about the Secret Superstar’s Journey to stardom. Both Zaira Wasim & Aamir seems to be carrying it over from Dangal. Only this time the fight is not in the ring with a wrestler but on the stage called Earth and the Drama called life.
Zaira comes up with yet another stupendous performance worthy of a superstar. As Insia she not only manages to portray but also evoke a whole lot of emotions in us. Be it the helplessness at her plight, affection towards her mom, excitedness at her videos or the gratitude towards her mom she aces it with flying colours. She is one of the pillars for the movie and at this age she does a commendable job.
Meher vij as Najma does a equally good job. The bonding between Her and Insia has worked out really well and Kudos to its creator Advait Chandan. There are quite a few scenes in the movie so pivotal to the plot and moving the audience a lot. The school romance between teenagers which is tricky has been handled smartly by Advait. Aamir as Shakti Kumar takes care of the entertainment quotient and also strengthens the movie further. The perfectionist has hit the bulls eye yet again. The crew better clear some space in their trophy cabinet. Amit soulful music just adds to mellifluous chime of the movie.
Last but not least the pace of the movie is slow as needed by the depth in its storyline. This will therefore appeal only to the genuine movie lovers. This is a emotional, authentic, meaningful movie that definitely impacted me and will do so for other Movie lovers as well. If you are looking for weekend entertainment to douse of your work woes this movie is not your cup of cake. My rating is 4 /5 for this movie. #RangasReview
