Katamarayudu – Rangas Review

After Khaidi No 150 Katamarayudu is ought to set the cash registers for a long time. Power star is firing on all cylinders and this one’s ought to be a absolute delight for his fans leaving them in frenzy.

When compared to their peers the tollywood have always managed to enjoy sky high adulation from their fans. Naturally there is always an extra dollop of heroism added to each of the lead characters and this movie is no different. The makers of the recently released Kong movie should take a leaf from the pages of this movie. The Hero places his feet on the ground and four Scorpios are blasted onto the sky in a riveting manner. Even Kong is given a run for its money.

That being said Powerstar Pawankalyan easily steps into the shoes of Vinayagam performed to perfection by Thala Ajith. He matches his style, machismo & charisma frame by frame to perfection. As Katamarayudu he shoulders the entire movie and easily the X-factor who bolsters the entire movie.

From a movie standpoint keeping the crux of the story intact some changes have been made to suit the regional audience. It was worked well for the fans seem to have absolutely loved it. Shruti Haasan has reprised Tamannaah role well and she seems to sport a dual personality in this movie. In the course of the movie she is like the homely next door girl, where as in the songs glamour takes precedence. Her midas touch when it comes to Telugu movies continues.

When u take the tamil version and the character called Vinayagam some scenes were high on emotional quotient and they were the main reason for the movie to have clicked with the audience apart from Thala’s charisma. Among all Vinayak’s traits his dignity is what stood out the most. In Katamarayudu not all such scenes have been retained and I would have to loved to seen one or two retained. Also the scenes are crafted in such a manner that you remember Katamarayudu more for his machoism than dignity.

After Khaidi No 150Katamarayudu is ought to set the cash registers for a long time. Power star is firing on all cylinders and this one’s ought to be a absolute delight for his fans leaving them in frenzy. #rangasreview #katamarayudu
