Dangal – Rangas Review

The movie grapples the audience with its authenticity, the actors pins the audience with their performances and last but not least it enthralls the audience by knockout courtesy its powerful & thought provoking dialogues. Aamir & crew churn out such a magical touch with Dangal that its not about watching Dangal but a matter of how much times you watch.  #RangasReview #Danga

They say the best is saved for the last and as 2016 is drawing to a close this is proved yet again. Yet another Kohinoor added to Aamir Khan sir’s star studded crown. He needs to be lauded for having played second fiddle to the X-Factor of the movie i.e “The Plot”. In my opinion this is where Dangal scores over Sultan. In Sultan the personality of Sallu stood over everything. It was almost an one-man show with certain cinematic elements. On the contrary Dangal is more of a team work with each of the crew playing their parts to perfection.

The movie grapples the audience with its authenticity, the actors pins the audience with their performances and last but not least it enthralls the audience by knockout courtesy its powerful & thought provoking dialogues. Word play at its very best. Ubiquitous humor too makes the plot lively & makes the audience squeal with laughter time & again 🙂 TTSS stands out. Stunts being a crucial factor, its evident that quite some homework & planning has been done upto the granular level to make it look as original as possible. Be it the throws, takedowns, joint locks & other grappling holds on screen it comes out impeccable accuracy. The entire crew needs to be lauded for this. Special mention to Fatima, Zaira, Sanya & Suhani for enacting Geeta & Babita (Sr. & Jr.) to perfection.  The emotional conundrum as a dad / coach for Mahavir is very well brought out & the bout between Mahavir & Geeta is an emotional overdose.

This might well turn out to be India’s best bet so far, at a shot to bring the Golden lady home. At the end of the movie I ended with the same feel I had after watching The Revenant. Leo went onto win a much awaited Oscar.  Let’s hope Dangal does the same. It shows about the rise of wrestling amidst women in India and there can’t be a better moment. Hoping for the best as an Ardent Indian. Hats off to Dangal & team for making the nation proud. Aamir & crew churn out such a magical touch with Dangal that its not about watching Dangal but a matter of how much times you watch.  #RangasReview #Dangal

I am a common man with the power to communicate. I am ardent reader of books, a Technophile. a public speaker and last but not least movie buff. I have also been a passionate toastmaster for the past 5 years and have attained the highest level of DTM. When I get time I also review movies and books constructively on my Fb page "RangaReviews". I have created this page to share my thoughts on topics that interest me and I believe will benefit others too. I am of the strong opinion that communication is a two way process and it has to happen between the communicator & receiver as well. Feel free to drop in your suggestions and thanks for spending your valuable time to read my posts.

  1. Hello Ranga,
What a singularly nice review! I do agree that the movie makes an impression on the viewer, but to bring an Oscar home is hopeful indeed. But… logic aside, yes I wish that, too.
As a book lover, would you be amenable to reading and reviewing a collection of short stories? Author Sharat Kumar has a collection of short stories coming out this time in January. In each of the 13 stories, uncovers the New Age woman and the chemistry between men and women in contemporary India. Whether spinning a yarn about an Army romance, or the affection between two divorcees; Kumar holds a mirror to how sparks fly.
If you’re interested, I’d love to provide a PDF of the upcoming book to be reviewed in your particular fun, free and fearless way. Just ping me back at the email address hritvick.dv(@)gmail dot com.

    Cheers, and keep blogging.
