The need of the hour. “Driven to distraction at Work” A perfect book from Edward M. Hallowell that makes one want to shout “Just what the doctor ordered”. The book talks about various ways in which we tend to get distracted, diverted in this digital era. This is one book that might be quite useful in helping you to managing yourself in this digital era.

Einstein’s famous quote “I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction” constantly rings in my mind whenever I see people especially from the younger generations getting sucked inside their phone screen. Reading this book might help atleast beginning that process to help reduce & slowly avoid the impact of this drastic change aka tumour thats more like a cancer. With treatments given in a few corporates for their employees to ward off the evil called “E commerce websites addiction” a book like this is much welcome & appreciated. The need of the hour. “Driven to distraction at Work” A perfect book from Edward M. Hallowell that makes one want to shout “Just what the doctor ordered”. The book talks about various ways in which we tend to get distracted, diverted in this digital era. It opens with Smartphone addiction (Screen Sucking) and goes on to talk about flexible focus, underachieving and lot of other generic but crucial traits. The other X factor with the book is that there is a protagonist for each of the chapters and each of the chapters has been spun in a interesting manner to make it not only informative but also entertaining. One can also easily relate to atleast one of the characters. The last few chapters give us lot of enlightenment on how to harness the full power of our body, mind, emotion etc. It leaves you with a lot to introspect and ponder about. A thought provoking book. It reminded me a lot of the book ” The Adventures of an IT Leader” by Richard Nolan in the way the book has been presented. As the tagline says it definitely gives a lot of points on how to be more productive & more focused. To sum it up this is one book that might be quite useful in helping you to managing yourself in this digital era. #Rangasreview. Check out this book here: http://amzn.to/2ekZNU0

I am a common man with the power to communicate. I am ardent reader of books, a Technophile. a public speaker and last but not least movie buff. I have also been a passionate toastmaster for the past 5 years and have attained the highest level of DTM. When I get time I also review movies and books constructively on my Fb page "RangaReviews". I have created this page to share my thoughts on topics that interest me and I believe will benefit others too. I am of the strong opinion that communication is a two way process and it has to happen between the communicator & receiver as well. Feel free to drop in your suggestions and thanks for spending your valuable time to read my posts.
